This blog has been silent since July 26th, and I apologize for that. Health problems have sidelined me very effectively, though I’ve enjoyed following Kamala Harris’s campaign, relieved that we’ve finally gotten past the question of age. She is a surefooted and passionate candidate—a very effective antidote to Democratic lethargy. Trump’s path has followed the predictable trail of increasing fear and panic, none of which seems to affect his base. And here we are on the eve of the election, the nation’s most critical and historic election—dead tied. There’s nothing to say now but—
!!!VOTE!!!
If you can’t be bothered, keep it to yourself–no one wants to hear it. You don’t care if Trump takes away your vote because you’ve already declared it useless. You’re not worth writing about.
The rest of us have only a few days to go, a few days of watching the craziness of panic on both sides—like burning ballot drop-boxes. I still cling to the belief that humans are capable of greatness, despite being daily assaulted by their mindless worship of idols. We’ve all learned the impenetrable strength of “mob-think” and can only hope that cracks in its solidity have developed and will show up on Election Day.
Beyond that I have nothing to say except—keep the faith. This nation is a great one; it will live to continue that struggle for human decency.
